Purpose of Role:
Responsible for Scope, Planning, Execution and Handover to Operations of various industrial change projects largely centred upon the following two areas:
Civil Engineering and Major Capital Equipment Installations
Project Leadership: Lead and manage the planning, design, execution, and delivery of capital projects related to aerospace facilities, including office spaces, manufacturing plants, civil engineering works and machine installations.
Scope and Budget Management: Develop project scopes, timelines, and budgets. Ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with internal stakeholders, including engineering teams, operations, and senior leadership, to understand project needs, provide status updates, and ensure alignment with organisational goals.
Vendor and Contractor Management: Oversee the selection, negotiation, and management of contractors and vendors. Ensure all contractors meet project specifications, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.
Risk and Issue Management: Proactively identify potential project risks and issues, developing mitigation strategies and providing recommendations for resolution.
Compliance and Standards: Ensure all projects comply with applicable regulations. Ensure adherence to quality standards, safety protocols, and environmental guidelines.
Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and present regular project reports, including progress updates, budget forecasts, and resource allocation. Maintain detailed project documentation, including action logs, change control log and risk register
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains in project management and operational practices, contributing to the business operational processes.
Ensure the Gardner Project Management Process and Governance model is used on all projects
Formal Project Management qualification APM (Association for Project Management), PMI, Prince, Agile and demonstrable knowledge is preferred.
Skills and Experience:
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of operations and/or project management experience in the aerospace, manufacturing or engineering sectors, with a proven track record of managing facilities and capital projects.
Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of project management processes and an understanding of aerospace industry-specific regulations and safety standards.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information to a wide range of stakeholders.
Leadership Skills:Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage competing priorities, and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
Problem-Solving:Strong analytical and decision-making abilities, with a focus on finding creative and practical solutions to project challenges.
