Job Description:

We are supporting our established client based in Kettering in their search for a dynamic Production Manager on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, 6am-6pm.

Core Duties – but not exhaustive to:

• Take full responsibility for running the shift in conjunction with the Control Room Manager
• Manage day to day production through a modern sortation facility ensuring that daily targets are met/exceeded by being active out in the operational area.
• Communicate with your operational teams on a daily basis to ensure everyone is aware of the target, any changes and expectations for the shift
• Communicate start up of the production and tonnage throughput during the day at set times
• Oversee site safety for staff and contractors with the support of the Health and Safety Manager
• Liaise with goods in and out with regards to infeed requirement and what outfeed has been produced
• Be able to plan ahead with changing business demands
• Actively follow up instructions that have been given to staff to ensure that work has been carried out
• Report any issues to maintenance team through the raising of work orders and instruction of contractors.
• Manage the day-to-day site operation and coordinate teams effectively, liaising with departments or suppliers – in the event of a major problem that could potentially affect production, escalate to the Site Operations Manager
• Manage day to day staffing challenges both agency and directly employed
• Ensure all necessary work equipment is provided and adequate for purpose
• Prepare a daily handover report on the days production and any issues or outstanding work that the next shift need to be aware of.
• Share best working practices with other shifts
• Attend operations meeting and actively engage

Skills Required

• Proven recycling industry background would be a distinct advantage
• Experience in managing a production facility
• Proven hands on people manager and able to bring structure and guidance where appropriate
• Be able to keep moral up beat during challenging times
• Be able to react and resolve problems quickly
• Have excellent communication skills both with production staff and senior management
• Professional outlook and can keep calm under pressure
• Have a can-do attitude and also have a sense of urgency
• Be able to compile detailed reports
