Your Role
As the Payroll & Benefits Business Partner, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire payroll function across our diverse charity. You will ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, compliance with legal obligations, and continuous improvement of our payroll systems and processes. Partnering with operational leaders, you will drive efficiency and develop policies that support our strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership: Lead the payroll team, overseeing recruitment, training, performance management, and strategic direction. Payroll Management: Handle all payroll activities, including running monthly payroll for multiple entities and managing payroll administration processes. Collaboration: Work with the people team on onboarding, contractual changes, pay structures, and other related activities. Policy Development: Review and create payroll policies and procedures to ensure optimal efficiency. Strategic Planning: Develop plans to consistently improve the payroll function in collaboration with senior leadership. Audit and Compliance: Ensure payroll cycles run smoothly through effective audit practices and business partnering. Issue Resolution: Address and resolve payroll issues and anomalies, making recommendations to control costs. Benefits Administration: Manage and educate staff on employee benefits, including pensions and salary sacrifice schemes. Training and Support: Create and contribute to management training programs to ensure effective payroll administration and leadership development. Project Management: Lead or contribute to payroll-related projects, ensuring alignment with overall objectives.
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications: Professional qualification such as CIPP (essential). Experience: Significant experience leading high-volume monthly payroll and administering benefits (essential). Experience with time and attendance systems and multiple payrolls (desirable). Skills: Excellent numerical, analytical, and organizational skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel (essential). Attention to Detail: High standards of accuracy and ability to work with high volumes. Influence and Collaboration: Ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders. Continuous Improvement: A proactive approach to reviewing and improving processes.
