Civil Design Engineer

Construction Recruitment Group are recruiting. Our client have been established in 1994, and is one of the fastest-growing utility engineering contractors in the UK, with a successful track record in delivering engineering solutions for leading blue-chip power, water, telecoms, and rail clients.

Responsibilities:

• Create and coordinate conceptual engineering drawings using CAD packages.
• Develop project plans, including feasibility studies, cost estimates, and timelines.
• Ensure projects comply with codes, regulations, and standards; obtain necessary permits.
• Conduct site visits to assess progress, quality, and adherence to design specifications.
• Work closely with designers and other professionals to integrate project elements.
• Monitor project budgets and costs, addressing deviations from the original plan.
• Identify and mitigate potential project risks and challenges.
• Oversee design progress and manage sub-consultants and contractors.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings, efficiency, and business improvement.
• Ensure all safety, quality, technical, and commercial requirements are met.
• Support the entire project lifecycle from client engagement to project handover.

Requirements:

• Degree in civil engineering or related field.
• Proficiency in engineering software and tools (Civil 3D, Telka TEDDS, CityEngine, CAD).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of applicable policies, standards, and legislation.
• Experience in railway/energy infrastructure management or similar safety-critical environments.
• Excellent time management, self-reliance, resourcefulness, and initiative.
