We are seeking an experienced and proactive Building Services Engineer to join a leading Tier 1 construction contractor based on a project in the West Midlands.
The successful candidate will support the delivery of Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) packages from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract with potential for extension depending on project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage M&E subcontractors across multiple live projects
Review technical drawings, specifications, and design information
Support project teams through procurement, installation, commissioning, and handover phases
Monitor progress against programme and report on key milestones
Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality, and environmental standards
Attend and lead coordination meetings with consultants, subcontractors, and client teams
Identify and resolve technical and operational issues on site
Assist with value engineering and buildability reviews
Ensure all commissioning documentation and O&M manuals are completed accurately
Maintain strong stakeholder relationships throughout the project lifecycle
Candidate Requirements
Degree or HNC/HND qualified in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
Previous experience working with a main contractor or major M&E subcontractor
Proven experience delivering building services packages on large-scale construction projects
Strong technical understanding of mechanical and electrical systems
Knowledge of current UK building regulations and industry standards
Excellent communication and coordination skills
Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams
Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel to projects nationwide
