My client who are global leaders within Building Management Systems are currently looking for a BMS Design Engineer to join them on a permanent basis.
The BMS Design Engineer should fully understand the engineering requirements of building control systems for a range of building types, varying in complexity. You will need a thorough understanding of both mechanical and electrical building systems and be able to work autonomously. The role will require experience of interpreting customer specifications to develop comprehensive designs and scope packages including; panel design, hardware configuration, field equipment, software configuration, graphic packages as well as installation and commissioning scope

Electrical and Mechanical systems and plant knowledge
BMS system design – Development of the full design from initial scope to handover documentation
Author BMS control system strategy documents
BMS hardware and software architecture development and best practice
We’re looking for the following skills and experience:
Minimum HNC qualification in relevant subject area
Significant industry experience in control and automation of building systems
Competent in site surveys, working around live plant and equipment
A detailed understanding of specialist building systems including BMS, Electrical, Mechanical, fire safety and the BMS aspects of building networks
Experienced in BMS/control system design, software configuration, graphic generation, control panel design
Knowledge of PLC’s, stand-alone controllers, and energy/power control systems
Experience in coordinating BMS disciplines with multiple external suppliers and subcontract companies
Demonstrable complex problem-solving skills
An initiative-taker and strong team-player, flexible and able to work effectively without close supervision
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and able to develop excellent customer/supplier working relationships
