Anaerobic Digestion (AD) Plant Operator

An exciting opportunity to be part of a global business and join a distillery steeped in heritage in Speyside, the heart of the whisky trail. The distillery uses traditional methods of production, including wooden washbacks and copper pot stills, and operates an Anaerobic Digestion Plant for sustainable waste management.

Due to investment in the Anaerobic Digestion Plant, they are now looking for an AD Plant Operator to join their growing team.

This role involves managing the Combined Heat and Power (CHP) unit, routine sampling, SCADA system monitoring, and maintaining regulatory compliance. You’ll also work with third-party contractors, conduct maintenance, and assist the Distillery Manager with various tasks. Ideal candidates will have experience in Anaerobic Digestion, Distilling, Water, or Renewable industries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure continuous operation of the CHP unit.
• Perform routine sampling and act on results.
• Monitor SCADA system and address plant conditions.
• Complete and record paperwork for regulatory bodies.
• Manage third-party contractors on site.
• Conduct routine and non-routine maintenance.
• Provide effective handovers during shift changes.
• Maintain site housekeeping and assist with ad-hoc tasks.

Candidate Profile:

• Demonstrate initiative and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work alone or as part of a team.
• Accurate data recording and action on results.
• Maintain high housekeeping standards.
• IT literate.
• Valid UK Driving License.
• Experience in Anaerobic Digestion or water treatment industry is advantageous, but full training will be provided.
• Candidates with experience in the renewables sector will also be considered.
