We’re looking for Warehouse Shift Manager to join our established team at our Elland site on the PM shift, situated just off the M62 between Huddersfield and Halifax.

We’re interested in a determined, ambitious, and resilient Shift Manager who can demonstrate their previous success and want to develop themselves and their team in a fast-paced entrepreneurial E-com business.

You must have experience working in a warehouse environment ideally within distribution however if you’re a strong people manager who’s great with systems and can work at pace from a production or manufacturing background, we’d like to hear from you.

In the last few years, we have more than doubled our turnover, tripled our headcount, and continue to push the boundaries of e-tail, with so much growth and a brand-new site there is huge opportunity for career progression, we’re always looking to promote from within.

We can offer you a fixed shift pattern of:

• Monday to Friday – 14:00pm – 10:00pm and 1 Sunday in 3

More about the Role

• Carry out the warehouse pre-brief and de-brief at the start and end of each shift

• Effectively plan and communicate the work plan to your management and operations team consisting of 1 Team Manager, 3 Team Leaders and 40 staff out of peak going up to 60 in peak.

• Measure performance through MI and ensure that cost and quality KPIs are achieved

• Plan flex labour resources with activity and work internally and with agencies to a provide suitably qualified and able workforce

• Ensure high standards of warehouse discipline

• Carry out full quality control checks of products inducted into the warehouse and ensure they are put away accurately

• Provide training, coaching and support to the team

• Be flexible and adaptable to ensure that business goals are always achieved

• Performance manage staff including providing motivational leadership, as well as dealing with disciplinary matters and absence issues as required.

• Work collaboratively with other shifts to achieve a good standard of shift handover

• Ensure standard operating procedures, safe systems of work and health and safety measures are understood and followed by everyone

About You

• You need to be systems savvy with experience of using a warehouse management system, such as Red Prairie

• Previous team management experience is essential along with excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• You must be able to think on your feet, problem solve, and make decisions regarding safety and operational issues

• This is a hands-on business where the ability to be proactive and work with the minimum level of supervision is key

• A degree of flexibility to working times
