Our client are seeking a reliable and experienced Transport Debriefer to join the team. The successful candidate will be responsible in ensuring the smooth operation of transport services. You will be responsible for pre-briefing and debriefing drivers, monitoring their activities, and ensuring compliance with legal and safety standards. Your role will involve close communication with drivers, the transport manager, and other departments to resolve issues promptly and maintain high standards of service.
Requirements for success
Ensure drivers are using the provided Tom-Toms and that their runs are correctly assigned.
Must be able to work morning shift with the start of 6am.
Verify that vehicles and trailers are road legal and that drivers have the necessary PPE and paperwork.
Prepare run sheets for day or night shifts and pre-brief drivers on their tasks.
Use the TMS system to monitor and implement the Day 1 plan, communicate with drivers, and resolve any issues.
Report any sickness, no-shows, or unusual activities to the transport manager and ensure customers are informed of any delivery risks.
Quickly deal with breakdowns and ensure the compliance department and transport manager are aware.
Complete daily yard checks and address any issues.
Answer all emails and calls promptly, ensuring the transport mobile phone is always accessible.
Ensure drivers are debriefed correctly, download Tacho Cards, and upload hard copy PODs.
Provide a clear and informative handover at the end of each shift.
Conduct spot checks on vehicles and report any damages or defects.
Keep the Goods Out & Goods In screens on WMS up to date.
