Force Recruitment are looking to speak with Freelance Civil Site Managers with proven experience supervising/managing construction works involving S278 works.

Job Title: Freelance Civil Site Manager

Location: Maidstone, Kent

Contract Type: Freelance/Contract

Duration: 4 weeks – 4 days for the first week, transitioning to 3 days/week (night works possible)

Start Date: 02/09/2024

Rate: 350 – 400/day dependant on experience and qualifications

Scope: S278 works – Highway works, drainage, kerb replacements, re-surfacing, Signage etc.

Requirements:

• CSCS, SMSTS, and NRWSA Supervisor certification.
• Proven experience as a Site Manager in civil engineering, specifically with S278 works.
• Strong understanding of highway construction, roadworks, and associated civil engineering disciplines.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a site-based workforce.
• In-depth knowledge of health and safety legislation and practices in the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee all on-site activities related to the s278 works, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Manage and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Liaise with local authorities, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery and resolve any on-site issues.
• Prepare and review method statements, risk assessments, and work schedules.
• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and safety standards.
• Report on project progress, issues, and changes to the project management team.
• Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with the relevant regulations and standards, including Highways England and local authority requirements.
