A dynamic, modern Estate Agency is seeking a focused and experienced Service Charge Accountant to join their recently refurbished office based in Edgware.

The Service Charge Accountant Role

The incoming Service Charge Accountant will join a friendly finance team specialising in a variety of services including Residential Sales, Lettings, Commercial, Block Management and Property Management.

This role would suit a professional, personable Service Charge Accountant looking to join a flexible and friendly team with an enviable company culture. This is evident in the firms long-standing employees, comprising of a dynamic team of 28, at various levels. They are well known in the industry for being professional and delivering high quality work, with positive testimonials to prove this.

Whilst this is a self employed role, it is not zero hours and would suit someone looking for stable, long term work in a full time role.

The successful service charge account will be responsible for:

• Preparing income and expenditure reports and client reports
• Liaising with external accountant resolve queries
• Ensuring that all reconciliations are prepared in a timely manner in accordance with the RICS code
• Assisting the Property Manager with budget review
• Ensuring year end service charge accounts are completed on schedule
• Liaising with clients, tenants, suppliers and resolve queries
• Assisting annual audits
• Collecting service charge arrears
• Preparing bank reconciliations
• Setting up new properties on the system and handovers
• Ad hoc projects within accounts team

The Service Charge Accountant

Desired experience:

• 3+ years experience working within high street estate agents ideally
• AAT Degree is highly desirable but not essential
• Use of a large property management system
• Cash reconciliation experience
• Previous experience of using Qube is desirable
• Good knowledge of Excel
• Impeccable written and spoken English
• Must be able to work full time

The company is happy to discuss individual requirements based on experience but are looking to offer:

• 30,000- 40,000 (negotiable)
• Monday – Friday
• Working hours: 8.45am-6pm (Not zero hour contract)
• Self-employed pay structure (to be discussed at interview)
• Yearly pay reviews
• Holiday bonus of 28 days including holidays
