As a Senior Staff Nurse – Wards (Band 6), you will:
- Ensure the delivery of the highest standard of patient care during procedures.
- Monitor and maintain the quality of care provided, ensuring it meets hospital and national guidelines.
- Implement and adhere to infection control procedures to maintain a safe environment.
- Liaise with various departments across the hospital to ensure seamless patient care.
- Communicate effectively with doctors, nurses, and support staff to coordinate patient care.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss and plan patient care strategies.
- Conduct thorough assessments of patients’ health and well-being.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans for patients with complex and changing health needs.
- Monitor patients’ progress and make adjustments to care plans as necessary.
- Actively promote and implement best nursing practices within the ward.
- Identify areas for improvement in patient care and work with the team to develop and implement solutions.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audits to enhance patient care and service delivery.

To be considered for the Senior Staff Nurse – Wards (Band 6) role, you should have:
- NMC registration with no restrictions or conditions
- Excellent patient care skills
- Ability to lead clinics and multi-task efficiently
- Strong communication skills
- Experience in surgical wards (preferred but not essential)
- Capability in wound dressings and phlebotomy (desirable but training available)
