Are you a skilled Senior Accountant seeking a 6-9 contract where you can make a significant impact? Athwal Resourcing is working with a reputable client who is looking for a Senior Accountant to support the UK Finance Controller, local Management Team, and Head Office in their manufacturing business. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely financial information for corporate, auditors, and tax consultants for year-end closing and in developing the annual budget and year-end closing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Support and Guidance: Provide support and guidance to the finance department, establishing control processes and preparing support documents for statutory audits;
• Budget Preparation: Assist the Finance Manager in preparing the annual budget, interacting with relevant stakeholders to gather and analyse financial data;
• Statutory Audit: Support the statutory audit process by providing backing documents and calculations to justify the balance sheet;
• Process Development: Develop processes and procedures for an effective handover of duties at the end of the contract;
• Collaboration: Work closely with other departments and accounts payable to ensure the correct coding of transactions;
• Project and Expenditure Reporting: Collaborate with operational department management to gather, summarise, and present project and expenditure activity.

Requirements:

• ACMA, ACCA or ACA Qualified Accountant;
• Proven experience in a similar role within a finance department;
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and statutory audit processes;
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills;
• Ability to develop and implement efficient financial processes and procedures;
• Proficient in financial reporting and budget preparation;
• Familiarity with corporate policies and local guidelines.
