I am looking for an experienced Senior Engineer to join a Tier 1 contractor on a permanent basis. The contractor is looking for someone to join their growing team on a large civils project in York City Centre. They are currently delivering a substantial scheme valued at over £100m and would like a Senior Engineer with roadworks/rail experience.

The contractor is a very well known and respected entity within the construction world having traded for over 160 years. They operate across a variety of sectors but will be wanting the Senior Engineer to join their Infrastructure team. They have offices across Europe with major projects across Yorkshire, this gives the ideal candidate stability within their role and scope to progress within the organisation in the local area but move within if desired.

Senior Engineer responsibility;

Overseeing the Site Engineers within the region
Attending pre-contract meetings with the Clients and the Senior Management Team
Assisting the Project Managers with their day to day running of their sites
Training and developing junior engineers
Providing technical assistance to the project team where required
Coordinating the technical aspects of package handovers when required
QA where required
Checking the accuracy of sub-contractors work where requiredSenior Engineer Requirements

Must have similar experience working for UK contractors
Must have experience as a Senior Engineer with experience of managing Site Engineers
Must have worked on large civils schemes.
