Our client, based in Teesside, is looking for a Project Manager to lead multiple Sustaining (M&R) and Growth CAPEX projects. The PM will ensure the safe delivery of projects that meet agreed objectives and key results, within authorised budgets and to agreed schedules.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Responsible for all stages of development and implementation of several projects and/or engineering works at various locations at any one time.
• Ensure that all work is safely executed and in full compliance with company standards and UK/European legislation.
• Ensure compliance with procurement, management of change and commissioning and handover procedures.
• Project Basis of Design and Scope of Works . Agree Objectives and Key Results with stakeholders.
• Ensure adequate resource and time allocated for Process Hazard Analysis studies e.g.HAZOP/HAZIP/LOPA.
• Development of Schedules and Budgets.
• Preparation of Business Cases for approval at each project stage gate.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, planning authorities and clients to ensure alignment and effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure all projects comply with UK safety and environmental regulations (e.g. COMAH/CDM), planning regulations and industry best practices.
• Monitor project Estimate at Completion vs Budget At Completion/Authorised spend.
• Monitor Committed and Uncommitted Spend and all contract variations.
• Ensure timely goods receiving and accurate monthly Actuals/Forecasting on assigned projects.
• Accurate monthly reporting on project progress, risks/issues schedule and budget performance.
• Prepare detailed reports on Commercial Growth projects and manage engineering projects as required by the business including; the production of design calculations, drawings, specifications, programmes and budgets, procurement, installation and commissioning.

Essential Requirements:

• Experience as a Project Manager managing multiple projects within the Chemical, Oil and Gas or any other high hazardous industry
• A relevant engineering degree or similar is highly advantageous
• External accreditation with a recognised Project management methodology (PMP/Prince 2)
