Leading a Production Team to ensure the effective running of the process function and/or production lines and associated systems/equipment, fulfilling the production plan requirements and demonstrating an audit ready production environment at all times. Driving the performance of the process function and/or operation of product equipment/machinery and packaging equipment/machinery including fault finding, changeovers, asset care, and basic machine maintenance activities to maximise OEE performance. Auditing all monitoring systems required by the Company to ensure compliance with Company Policies/Procedures/Standards and identifying and implementing corrective actions. Managing non-conformance processes and corrective action activities to ensure compliance with Company Policies/Procedures/Standards. Leads departmental internal and external auditing activities, traceability exercises and product trials. Motivate and manage people activities to meet team performance targets and required Company Standards. Identify development areas relating to skills, behaviours and competencies and implementing development plans to enhance Standards within the team. Participation in Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing activities including leading short interval control and root cause analysis assessments. Working as a key member of the Production Leadership Team, demonstrating Company Values and flexibility to support other teams/departments where required. Leading the delivery of key performance indicators for the Factory linked to Safety, Quality, People, Delivery, and Cost Standards. Pro-actively identifying areas for continuous improvement within the production work environment/equipment/systems. Demonstrating a willingness to develop within the role to achieve Excellent Competency Levels.

Quality

• Competent in site quality management system.
• Ensures compliant delivery of quality checks and documentation / quality IT system entries through team members.
• Ensures compliance with GMP and HACCP Requirements.
• Root cause / solution delivery of identified Non Conformance materials, packaging or finished goods.
• Operational lead in product trials and launches.
• Operational lead in their area for site audits and visit.
• Leads traceability exercises.
• Delivery of mandatory quality compliance.
• Fully aware of the BGAR Quality Excellence programme and is actively involved in leading quality improvements.

People

• Ensure personal and team compliance with mandatory training requirements – plant / factory and role specific.
• Identifies and plans area specific training and development requirements within the team and arranges buddy support using appropriate Team Members.
• Leading the creation and training of area specific Standard Operating Procedures as part of the 4 Box Excellence programme.
• Manages people management activities ensuring timely completion of Probation & Performance Reviews, Investigations/Disciplinary Processes, Return to Work Interviews, Absence Management and Organisational Change Processes.

Delivery

• Competent at leading and running process and/or production area to an agreed performance level to deliver required OEE output.
• Take responsibility for the daily production plan requirements and resource availability (team and materials) to ensure OEE and production targets are delivered to plan.
• Leads Short Interval Control and delivery of corrective actions and where required escalation to ensure delivery of plan.
• Ensures correct use (accurate data capture) of the OEE system and supports analysis and creation of the improvement plans.
• Uses information to drive daily performance by setting / challenging objectives within the team.
• Manages and challenges Product and Line Changeovers, CIPs, SIPs (idle time) ensuring these activities are completed efficiently and within the required time allocated to minimise impact on OEE.
• Lead CI activities to improve Process / Product and Line Changeovers to positively affect OEE results.
• Able to effectively fault finding and undertake root cause analysis to identify the correct actions required with participation in wider Root Cause Analysis events to identify underlying issues and potential resolution options.
• Leads effective handover with oncoming Team Leads/Managers to provide an update on any safety, quality, people, delivery or cost issues arisen during working hours.
• Communicates key performance metrics achieved during working hours and details required priority actions for oncoming team.
• Leads factory operational performance reviews to ensure active participation in daily operations meetings to discuss priority actions and takes ownership of actions within remit.
• Leads Housekeeping, Asset Care and PM Schedules and Audit Ready activities.Leads with the E4, the handover process from engineering after PM sessions to ensure timely return to production in accordance with the plan. Leads production based shutdown / overhaul activities to support the engineering function

Cost

• Takes responsibility for the non-conformances process to ensure that any non-conforming material is managed and resolved in a timely manner to minimise waste costs via the RCA process.
• Utilises raw materials and equipment efficiently and participates in CI initiatives to reduce waste.
• Closes works orders in a timely manner and investigates and where possible resolves any abnormal losses.
• Leads yield performance improvement and delivers corrective actions based on analysis.
• Working with peer group ensure effective resource deployment across the site.
• Management of resource cost – manning to shift profile / budget and complying with holiday rules.
• Defines requirements to bridge gaps in resource through Overtime / Agency spend and takes ownership for implementing required action.
