About the Role We have an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic firm working closely with the Accounts Manager and another Legal Cashier. As a vital member of the finance function, you will be responsible for managing all daily cashiering tasks with precision, ensuring the accurate handling of both client and office accounts, all while maintaining full compliance with the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Accounts Rules.
Key Responsibilities:
Process client and office transactions, including receipts, payments, and transfers
Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations
Maintain detailed and accurate client and office ledgers
Prepare invoices and monitor overdue payments
Produce financial reports on a daily, monthly, and year-end basis
Submit VAT returns and assist with audit preparations
Liaise effectively with internal teams and external parties, such as clients, auditors, and banks
Identify and escalate any potential breaches or irregularities
Provide support for general finance and administrative tasks as required
About You We’re seeking a confident, detail-oriented team player with a genuine passion for finance in the legal sector. The ideal candidate will bring:
Proven experience as a Legal Cashier/Accounts within a law firm (essential)
Strong knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules
Familiarity with legal accounting software
Exceptional accuracy and keen attention to detail
