Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: 45.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday – no weekends)
Salary: Starting from 29,575 per annum

About the Role:

We are seeking a hands-on and reliable Forman’s Assistant / Machine Operator to join our fast-paced workshop in Dartford. This is a full-time, permanent position ideal for someone practical, physically fit, and willing to learn. The role is primarily to support the Forman in the day-to-day operations of the facility, with some responsibilities involving machine operation (training provided).

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the right-hand to the Forman, supporting across multiple departments.
• Assist with machine operations (e.g., laser, press brake, waterjet – full training provided).
• Pick, pack, load and unload goods, and manage collections and deliveries.
• Carry out local deliveries using company vehicles.
• Maintain workshop stock control and support general site organisation.
• Communicate effectively with both office and workshop staff.
• Participate in company-wide projects and equipment moves as required.

Requirements:

• Full UK driving license (ideally over 25 years old for insurance purposes, not essential).
• Forklift driving ability is preferred (license ideal but not essential).
• Physically fit – capable of handling loads up to 25kg with appropriate equipment.
• Good spoken and written English.
• Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently under pressure.
• Punctual, reliable, and a positive team player.

Working Hours: 45.5 hours per week

• 3 Days: 6:00am – 4:00pm
• 1 Day: 7:30am – 5:30pm
• Fridays: 6:00am – 2:00pm
• Paid morning and afternoon coffee breaks, plus 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
