Job Description:

My client is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Electrical Project Manager to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of electrical installations on various M&E projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will be working closely with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to manage all aspects of the project lifecycle from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Planning & Management:

  • Lead and manage electrical engineering projects from initial design through to final handover.
  • Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring alignment with client requirements and company standards.
  • Monitor project progress, identifying risks, and implementing effective solutions to keep projects on track.

• Team Leadership:

  • Supervise and coordinate the work of electrical engineers, site managers, and subcontractors.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment, promoting continuous improvement and professional development.

• Client & Stakeholder Liaison:

  • Act as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring their expectations are met and exceeded.
  • Provide regular project updates, manage any changes in scope, and ensure effective communication with all stakeholders.

• Quality Assurance & Compliance:

  • Ensure that all work is carried out to the highest standards, adhering to relevant regulations, codes, and best practices.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor quality and safety, implementing corrective actions as necessary.

• Financial Management:

  • Manage project budgets, controlling costs, and ensuring financial objectives are achieved.
  • Prepare and present financial reports, including cost forecasts and final accounts.

• Health & Safety:

  • Promote and enforce a strong health and safety culture across all projects.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety legislation, conducting regular audits and risk assessments.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Proven experience as an Electrical Project Manager in the M&E contracting sector.
• Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, practices, and standards.
• Experience managing projects in sectors such as commercial, industrial, residential, and public sectors.
• Demonstrable experience managing projects with values ranging from £500,000 to £10 million.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks effectively.
• Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management and cost control.
• Relevant qualifications in electrical engineering or a related field (e.g., HNC/HND, BEng, etc.).
• Health & Safety certifications (e.g., SMSTS, IOSH) are highly desirable.
