I am partnered with a Global Construction & Engineering firm going through dramatic growth plans to upskill their procurement function and push for market-leader status. To achieve this, they are looking to take on a Category Manager for Utilities to support an array of transformation projects, and develop into a future leader within their procurement function.

My client is offering a project-based procurement position, with great exposure to a wide range of high-value, complex procurement projects. Consequently, you will quickly upskill your procurement knowledge to best-in-class standard, and benefit from their fast-track progression scheme, with previous placements ready to move into Senior Category Manager or Procurement Lead positions within 18 months.

As a Category Manager you will deliver on a range of transformation projects to deliver key cost savings and facilitate commercial growth. In doing so you will:

• Develop innovative procurement strategies for their Utilities sub-categories, primarily water, electric, and gas.
• Engage with internal stakeholders to understand internal demands and garner support for your procurement plans.
• Deliver on a range of traditional end-to-end procurement activities including, strategic sourcing, tendering, negotiating, contracting, and supplier relationship management.

I am keen to speak to candidates with:

• Very strong end-to-end, project-based procurement experience. Consultancy experience would be beneficial but is in no way essential for this position.
• A good knowledge of NEC or FIDIC contracts.
• A strong academic background, having ideally obtained a degree, but this is not a pre-requisite
