My client, a privately owned logistics provider, is looking to recruit a commercially astute Airfreight Pricing Co-ordinator to join its growing office in Birmingham. You will be working as part of a friendly, sociable team.

ROLE: Airfreight Pricing Co-ordinator

HOURS: Monday to Friday 9 am – 5.30 pm

SALARY: up to £35k plus bonus and other benefits

DUTIES OF AIRFREIGHT PRICING CO-ORDINATOR

• Receive customer quotations via varying methods – email / online portal etc
• To cover Air – Imports / Exports / Cross Trade
• Negotiate rates with carriers / hauliers / suppliers and confirm availability of equipment and agree prices where no tariff exists, to maximise cost-effectiveness.
• Prepare and submit customer quotations and proposals within agreed timeframe
• To produce strategic tariffs when required to ensure effective workload and to ensure these tariffs are kept up to date and relevant
• Monitor carrier websites and notifications
• Engagement with airfreight operational teams to ensure smooth handover of secured shipments

General Skills for Airfreight Pricing Co-ordinator

• Industry and operational knowledge of Airfreight – inbound, outbound, and cross trade
• An understanding of how to influence the profitability through effective pricing
• Able to cope and accustomed to working under pressure to meet fixed deadlines
• Dangerous Goods knowledge is preferable
• Strong numerical and commercial skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Excellent usage of computer / operating system (Microsoft Windows) along with other office applications (Microsoft Office) (Cargowise – preferable)
• Proactive, team worker with excellent time management and organisation skills
• Enthusiastic, flexible, and self-motivated
• May be required to work some overtime and/or be flexible in start/finish times (during busier times!)
