McAlpine Grant Ilco Ltd are looking for an experienced and skilled Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Sales Engineer to join their successful team in Oxford.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Technical Sales Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for the generation of new business enquiries, developing existing customers and responding to incoming sales leads.

• Calling on commercial, industrial and residential end user customers, and specialist fit out and building contractors. Customers include schools, colleges, universities, NHS Trusts, Blue Chip companies, retail, offices and residential developments.
• Carrying out a full site survey, preparing a working design and proposal, setting up a contract and delivering installations to handover.
• Preparing Risk Assessments and Method Statements
• Working closely with engineers and sub-contractors to ensure new installations are delivered to the highest standard.
• Carrying out site visits as necessary and providing technical support where needed.
• Following up installation projects with PPM quotations or standalone FM contract proposals.
• Focusing on split and VRF installations, plus additional refrigeration installations and equipment.
• Prepare and manage online tendering.

THE PERSON

An experienced all-rounder able to develop profitable new business, competently design air conditioning and refrigeration systems, prepare detailed proposals / quotations and manage projects.

• A sound and demonstrable working knowledge of air conditioning and refrigeration installation works, centred around split systems, VRFs and walk-in cold rooms / freezers.
• A proven track recording in achieving profitable sales.
• A sound and demonstrable knowledge of health and safety relating to air conditioning and refrigeration works.
• A high degree of financial and commercial awareness with the ability to manage budgets.
• Ability to effectively communicate with customers, colleagues and sub-contractors
• A flexible and adaptable outlook to achieving success.
• Basic CAD skills would be an advantage.
• Knowledge of, and ability to design ventilation and ductwork systems would be an advantage.
• Full eligibility to live and work in the UK.
• Full UK driving License

THE LOCATION

Based in Oxford

• Visiting customers and attending sites across the UK, mainly centred around the Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Wiltshire and Gloucestershire areas, and into London.
